HM Queen Elizabeth II

Like the whole country, we were very sad to hear the news on Thursday evening of the death of Queen Elizabeth. Our schools have been paying tribute with special assemblies and events and there are books of condolences available for children and families to express their feelings should they so wish.

We know now that Her Majesty’s funeral will take place on Monday September 19th and that the day has been declared a bank holiday. Our schools will therefore be closed on Monday, so that our families can spend the day together and take the time to reflect on the impact of 70 years of dedicated service to our country of our longest serving monarch.

Over the next week, we will continue to dedicate all our efforts to making sure children’s experience in school is safe and happy and although our social media may be a bit quieter, the full range of activities will be on offer.
