About us

The Trust was born of the partnership between Uffculme Secondary School, an outstanding 11-16 comprehensive; and Uffculme Primary School which is the nearest and biggest of the secondary’s eight feeders. In September 2019 Holyrood Academy and Axe Valley Academy joined the Trust and in January 2021 we also welcomed Neroche Primary school. Our mission is to provide outstanding educational experiences to all the children who are educated within the schools within the Trust.

News

On the first January 2021 we were delighted to welcome Neroche Primary school to Uffculme Academy Trust - Neroche is a single form entry school from Reception to Year 6 which also has its own preschool setting. With Neroche and Holyrood Academy, Uffculme Academy Trust is now able to offer an all- through provision for students aged between 2 and 18 years in its own locality.

During the year 2018-19 Uffculme Academy Trust welcomed the opportunity to work with Vector Learning Trust and its academies, Holyrood Academy and Axe Valley Academy. The strong traditions and values of both academies and the skills of teaching staff are clear and we were delighted that the Department for Education gave approval for both academies to join our Trust from 1st September 2019. We have been delighted that our partnerships across the Trust has embedded as all of our schools work together in both shaping and realising the benefits of collaborative working.

Uffculme Academy Trust was delighted that in the 2019 New Year Honours list our CEO, Lorraine Heath, was awarded the OBE for 'services to education', which includes her leadership of Uffculme School since 2008 and her role as Executive Headteacher and, since 2018 Chief Executive Officer, of Uffculme Academy Trust. Lorraine has supported schools across the South West as a National Leader in Education. In 2013 she was elected to the regional Headteacher Board where she worked with 'Outstanding South West Heads' and on the Academies Programme for the region. More locally she is a Director of Richard Huish Trust and a governor of the Taunton Academy.
